About Gift Registry
The free, universal gift registry that works with any store — from Amazon to your local boutique, all on one list.
What is Gift Registry?
Gift Registry (giftgiving.fun) is a free, universal wishlist platform that lets anyone create a gift registry for any occasion — and share it with friends and family anywhere in the world. Unlike retailer-owned registries that lock you into shopping at a single store, Gift Registry works with every online shop at once. You add gifts by pasting a product URL from any website, and the details — name, image, price, and description — fill in automatically.
When you share your registry link, guests can browse your list and claim gifts with just their name — no account required, no app to install. The moment a gift is claimed, it is marked as taken for everyone else, preventing duplicate purchases. And critically, the registry owner never sees who bought what. Claiming is completely anonymous from the owner's perspective, so every gift remains a genuine surprise until the moment it is unwrapped.
Gift Registry is free forever for both owners and guests. It is supported by Google AdSense advertising and affiliate commissions from retailers such as Amazon — not by charging users or taking a cut of any purchases.
Who uses Gift Registry?
Gift Registry is used by anyone who wants to coordinate gift-giving without duplicates, without store lock-in, and without spoiling the surprise:
- Engaged couples creating a wedding registry that draws from Williams-Sonoma, Etsy, IKEA, and a dozen other shops in a single list
- Expecting parents building a baby shower registry for prams, nursery items, and clothing from wherever they prefer
- Birthday celebrants of all ages — from children's wishlists to milestone-birthday lists for adults
- Families coordinating Christmas gift-giving and Secret Santa lists without the back-and-forth messages
- Graduates setting up a registry for apartment essentials, tech, or career gear as they head into their next chapter
- New homeowners who need everything from a kettle to a garden hose and want guests to choose freely across stores
How Gift Registry drives retail purchases
Gift Registry sits at the intersection of gift-giving intent and retail commerce. Here is how it works in practice:
- A registry owner adds gifts by pasting product URLs from any retailer — Amazon, Etsy, Myer, David Jones, IKEA, Kmart, Target, Williams-Sonoma, Net-a-Porter, or any other online store. The platform auto-imports product details.
- The owner shares their registry link via WhatsApp, email, a wedding website, invitation inserts, or a printed QR code.
- Guests visit the registry with clear purchase intent — they are there specifically to buy a gift. They browse, find something in their budget, claim it, and then click through to the retailer's product page to complete the purchase.
- The purchase happens directly at the retailer. Gift Registry is the coordination layer; the actual transaction takes place on the retailer's own site at their standard retail price.
Retailers that appear on Gift Registry
Because the platform is store-agnostic, gift links span the full breadth of online retail. Common retailers whose products appear on Gift Registry include:
- Homewares & furniture: IKEA, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Adairs, Temple & Webster, Freedom, Pillow Talk
- Department stores: Myer, David Jones, Target, Kmart, Big W, Bed Bath & Beyond
- Marketplaces: Amazon (AU & US), Etsy
- Baby & nursery: Baby Bunting, The Iconic Kids, Bonds, Cotton On Kids
- Fashion: The Iconic, ASOS, Net-a-Porter, Country Road, Seed Heritage
- Electronics & tech: JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Apple, Officeworks
- Kitchen & appliances: KitchenAid, Breville, Smeg (via department stores)
- And thousands of independent online retailers worldwide
Amazon affiliate integration
Gift Registry participates in the Amazon Associates programme for both Australia (giftregist0f-22) and the United States. Amazon product links added to a registry are automatically tagged, meaning qualifying purchases made after a guest clicks through may generate a commission. This integration is already live and active.
We are actively seeking affiliate partnerships with additional retailers — particularly in homewares, fashion, baby goods, kitchenware, electronics, and experiences — to ensure that the purchase traffic Gift Registry generates is properly attributed and monetised through affiliate commissions.

Search traffic & intent
Traffic arrives through organic search (Google) with high purchase intent. SEO-optimised occasion guides target queries such as "wedding registry Australia", "free baby shower registry", "Christmas wishlist app", "graduation gift registry", and related long-tail terms. Visitors arriving through these queries are actively planning to create or shop from a gift registry — they are not casual browsers.
The platform
Gift Registry is a full-featured gift registry application, not a minimal proof of concept. Key capabilities include:
The service is built on Spring Boot and runs on Railway (PostgreSQL, Java 17). It has no framework dependencies on the frontend — plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — making it fast to load on any connection. All pages are served over HTTPS.
Affiliate partnerships & working with us
Gift Registry is actively building affiliate integrations to ensure the retail traffic the platform generates is properly attributed and earns commissions for both the platform and its partners.
Current affiliate integrations
- Amazon Associates — Australia (live)
- Amazon Associates — United States (live)

Why partner with Gift Registry?
Every guest who clicks a gift link on our platform is a motivated buyer visiting your store with a specific item already selected. This is not general referral traffic — it is high-intent, occasion-driven commerce. The person clicking through has just committed to buying that exact item as a gift for a real event.
Gift Registry is also a sticky platform: owners build registries weeks or months before events, and guests return multiple times as they plan purchases. A single wedding registry can generate dozens of referred purchases across multiple guests between engagement and the wedding day.
We participate in Commission Factory and are open to direct affiliate arrangements. If you represent a retailer or affiliate network and would like to discuss a partnership, please get in touch.
